Belle Chere Festival
Belle Chere is perhaps the largest of the Asheville Festivals and definitely one of the most known regionally. Belle Chere is a three day event that creates quite a frenzy on the streets of historic downtown Asheville. Featuring live music, various arts and crafts, and plenty of games for the whole family, the Belle Chere Festival is one of the most popular Asheville Festivals that take place here each year.

The North Carolina Apple Festival
The NC Apple Festival takes place each year in the charming town of Hendersonville NC and has been a main event and Western NC Festival for more than 60 years. Held over Labor Day weekend downtown, the North Carolina Apple Festival brings visitors and residents together to celebrate the bountiful apple harvest and apple farming tradition that has sustained the area. Home to many of apple orchards, Hendersonville NC is the Apple Capital of NC, and each year during the North Carolina Apple Festival weekend it really shows. Visit this favorite Asheville Festival and enjoy the craft vendors, delicious apple and baked goods and the King Apple Parade, the festival's main event.

Mountain Dance & Folk Asheville Festival
This Asheville Festival is more than just your average music festival, the Mountain Dance & Folk Festival in Asheville is the longest running folk festival in the country as it has remained a tradition in Asheville for 79 years, with this year marking the event's 80th anniversary. The three day event is held in August and is a gathering of old time musicians, mountain dance groups, cloggers and brings plenty of great food, crafts and fun to the region.

Asheville Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands
Twice a year each year, the Southern Highlands Craft Guild, who’s headquarters are located at the Folk Art Center just off of the NC Blue Ridge Parkway, hosts a craft fair where its more than 200 members can exhibit and sell their fine crafts and wares. This biannual event is held once in July and once in October and features art from guild members from throughout the association's nine southeastern states. Visitors to the Asheville Craft Fair can enjoy craft demonstrations, browse unique and handmade goods and enjoy great live music. This tradition has been a regular event for decades and celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

Asheville Herb Festival
The Asheville Herb Festival takes place in the spring and has been called one of the best herb festivals in the southeast due to its wide variety and selection of herbs, herb plants, herb products and spices. Environmentally friendly wares are sold, and visitors can purchase and learn how to make products such as herbal salves, balms, lotions, ointments, herbal soaps, shampoos and medicines.

Foothills Highland Games
Hendersonville NC has its own annual gathering of the Scottish Clans of the South (SCOTS) each year at its annual event, the Foothills Highland Games. This wonderful event celebrates Celtic and Scottish culture through a variety of festival events including bag piping concerts, caber toss games, tugs of war, and the parade of tartans. Celtic music and Celtic foods help to set the stage for the events.
